The problem has apparently cleared itself up, so we're back in action! Nothing too exciting happened today, but since when has nothing happening stopped me from blathering on about it?
His Lordship's invented a new game for baby. Because the kicks are strong enough to feel from the outside, when baby kicks, His Lordship taps on the same place. The first time he did that, there was a pause in the kicking, and then an even stronger kick! They tap and kick back and forth until baby gets bored.
Baby also stops everything and listens when His Lordship speaks. He doesn't do that for anyone else. It's so amazing that he knows his daddy's voice already. God is good, putting things like that in Creation.
On another note, here's an interesting passage from my reading today:
I linked some words I found fascinating: "harlot" referring to fornicating women, and "faithless", which actually means "treacherous" and "deceitful", including in marital contexts. It appears to propose that men can't fornicate without consequences to their character, so men should keep to their own wives. Clear lesson: Ladies, don't fool around outside of marriage; not only do you hurt yourself, you're hurting him (and his future wife). We are not obligated to enable a man being a fool, no matter how wise he claims he's being.
I also find another warning against drunkenness in this chapter. How people can read the Bible and still think God's perfectly okay with getting drunk is beyond me. The hamster is mighty, I guess.
Bible reading: Joshua 21-22; Psalm 119:121-176; Proverbs 23; Acts 14-15
Unfortunately, I have nothing to tell you about my work today. Last night, I tweaked a muscle in my neck and I can barely turn my head. I have a beautiful headache, too. Dishes were the most I could do, and only in dribs and drabs. So I'm slacking off today; I have no choice.
...And at a little after 2 pm, I now have a blinding headache and nausea. Should be fine tomorrow, assuming the muscles will reset in deep slumber. I hope your afternoon is as restful as mine will be (but without the headache, of course)!
